Principal Research Interests

  • Organic synthesis (heterocycles, phosphorus and silicon compounds, oligonucleotides, amino acids, drug conjugates)
  • Metabolism of xenobiotic compounds , such as drugs and environmental contaminants, by microorganisms  and mamalian enzymes
  • Development of analytical methods for biochemical and environmental applications (HPLC, LC/MS, GC/MS)
  • Bioprocessing of small molecules using isolated enzymes and microorganisms
  • Expression of cloned enzymes from native genes and methods for improving enzyme production by microbial cultures
