Position and Scope
Invizyne Technologies, located in Monrovia, CA, has developed a proprietary cell-free enzyme platform to produce bulk and specialty chemicals from renewable feedstocks. Invizyne has demonstrated that its platform technology can be used to convert low-cost inputs into commodity chemicals used as flavors and fragrances, bioplastic, fuels, and therapeutics at near 100% of theoretical yields. Invizyne is leading the charge to enable a paradigm shift in renewable chemical production. With substantial private funding, in addition to multi-million-dollar government grants supporting our research, Invizyne is poised to optimize and expand our platform into new markets and capabilities.

We are seeking a Scientist in the field of chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, bio-engineering or synthetic biology to join our dynamic team to expand our cell-free systems. Working closely with the Director of R&D, the Scientist will be responsible for leading a team developing a cell free system for the 1) the use of cofactors from a lysate and 2) for developing a cell free system for the production of carotenoids, particularly astaxanthin.    The Scientist will work in a collaborative, transparent environment with the R&D team to bring concepts from the design stage, to proof of concept, to application at a pilot scale. The ideal candidate will be an experienced chemistry, molecular biology, and/or chemical engineering who is familiar with natural products (in particular terpenes and carotenoids), is comfortable working with multi-enzyme systems, and has demonstrated project leadership ability. The position is located in Monrovia, CA.
