This week, Oak Crest summer programs were prominently showcased in a series of informative articles by the local news publication Monrovia Weekly. One article introduced the Summer Academy, a two-week science research mystery adventure for middle school students launched by Oak Crest in collaboration with the City of Monrovia in Summer 2018.
The second of three sessions is wrapping up this week and so far the students seem to be having fun while learning a lot of new scientific techniques and solving riddles. Our current team of YES interns and City staff, with the support of Oak Crest researchers, are doing a great job guiding the students through their journey.
The second article describes the Academy in more detail is a great read with some wonderful photos! Thank you Susan Motander and Terry Miller for this enthusiastic coverage. Make sure you click on all the above links!
